What new leaders usually inherit

  • Cash you can't predictNo reliable forecast, and surprises every month.
  • A board losing patienceThey want numbers you can't fully trust yet.
  • Debt spread across lendersHealthy cash flow, but no clean path to a line of credit.
  • A close that takes weeksReports arrive too late to make decisions with.
  • A raise on the horizonInvestors are coming, and the valuation story isn't ready.
  • Roles nobody ownsProcesses live in one person's head, or no one's.
Why Perity Co.

Not another fractional CFO

Most fractional CFOs report the numbers. I fix the numbers and the operations behind them, from the perspective of someone who has led the whole organization.

I've been the one answering to the board

As Acting CEO, I sat in the seat you're in now. I know what the first year asks of you, and what your board is watching for.

Finance and operations, together

Wrong numbers usually come from broken processes, unclear roles or the wrong systems. I fix the cause, not just the report.

Range across sectors

Public agencies, nonprofits, arts and education, Wall Street operations, startups and family businesses. I adapt to how your organization actually works.

When I leave, your team can run it

Clean books, documented processes, trained staff and a plan to hire your permanent leader. The progress stays after I step back.

The First-Year Stabilization method

Stabilize first. Then grow.

Every engagement follows the same three stages. Start with the diagnostic and decide from there.

STAGE 01

First-Year Diagnostic

2–4 weeks · fixed fee

A clear read on your finances, operations, controls and systems.

  • Findings report in plain language
  • Prioritized 90-day plan
  • Board-ready summary
STAGE 02

Stabilization

60–120 days · fixed scope

I carry out the top priorities from the diagnostic, side by side with your team.

  • Cash forecast and clean close
  • Debt and banking strategy
  • Roles, processes and reporting
STAGE 03

Ongoing leadership

Monthly retainer

Part-time finance and operations leadership at the level your organization needs.

  • Monthly financial review and KPI dashboard
  • Budget, forecast and board support
  • A thought partner for the executive

Built to hand off. Every engagement includes a plan to hire or train your permanent finance and operations leader, so your team can run it when I step back.

Typical engagements

Where I come in

Debt & capital

Healthy cash flow, tangled debt

The situation
Several loans with different lenders, terms and covenants. No line of credit to smooth the slow months.
The work
Map every obligation, consolidate the debt and prepare the package lenders need to say yes.
Growth & investors

Growing toward a raise

The situation
Strong momentum, but financials that won't stand up to diligence and no clear view of value.
The work
Build the model, clean the history and shape a valuation story investors can follow.
Leadership transition

A new leader's first year

The situation
A new CEO or executive director inherits gaps the search process never surfaced.
The work
Steady the finances and operations behind them while they build trust with the board and staff.
Founder & principal

Lilee Dethchan-Beltran, MBA

I've been the person new leaders call when the organization they inherited needs steadying.

I served as Acting CEO of the Grammy-winning Handel and Haydn Society, alongside leading its finance and operations. Before that I led finance and operations at public, nonprofit and education organizations, and started my career in alternative investment operations at State Street.

I learned operations as an Operations Sergeant in the U.S. Army: know the ground, set the plan, keep people moving. Perity Co. brings that same discipline to your first year.

Parity → Prosperity PERITY, SAID LIKE "PARITY"

Perity sounds like parity: books that balance, cash you can see and operations that run the way they should. That balance is where prosperity starts.
